Primary Purpose: 

The Executive Investments and New Ventures is responsible for the coordination and management of the investment and re-investment strategy, policy and to strategically direct the investment function in order to increase and improve national investment returns through robust investment appraisal, deal structuring and continuous assessment, monitoring and reporting on investment and reinvestment performance.

Demonstrable ability to influence others, facilitate open discussion and debate among key stakeholders and build relationships and partnerships.

Key Performance Areas: 
  • Promote and facilitate investment by foreign and Namibian investors and new Ventures that contribute to economic development and job creation;
  • Facilitate the implementation of the Namibia Investment  Policy and Strategy;
  • Review and propose policy reforms and measures to support trade and investment promotion;
  • Promote Regional Special Economic Zones that leverage the geographic comparative advantage of region and opportunities through the AfCFTA
  • Facilitate and ensure Government and private sector collaboration to stimulate the growth, expansion and development of the Namibian economy.
  • Provide strategic direction to New Ventures to ensure it has a high-impact strategy that achieves concrete results.
  • Identify local projects that need investors, both private and public (through PPPs).
  • Work closely with local/domestic investors on joint venture opportunities for potential linkages with foreign direct investors
  • Supervise Investment Promotion Officers
  • Develop bankable business plan
  • Identify investors that will be targeted for relevant investment projects.
  • Attract investors to Namibia and enhance re-investment.
  • Engage the local business community and package projects for potential investors.
  • Engage interested investors and identify projects that meet their requirements.
  • Assist investors and business owners to successfully define the project scope, negotiate terms, conclude funding agreements and ensure implement projects.
  • Monitor and evaluate the impact of the investment projects and initiatives on the national economy.
  • Offer new ideas and innovations on how to promote and attract investments in Namibia.
  • Perform any other duties that might be unrelated but relevant to this job function as  assigned by the CEO 
Education and Experience Required: 

The Executive Investments and New Ventures is required to hold a post graduate qualification, i.e.  Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, administrative or public Management.  7 to 10 year’s senior management experience in a related field of Investment management, Financial, economics or business management in a medium to large organisation.  Demonstrable experience of managing investments  and reinvestment projects and achieving success.

  • Good negotiation, interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Good knowledge and experience of relationship building techniques
  • Strategic planning ability and resource management skills.
  • Good experience and knowledge of the local, regional and international investor environment.
  • Positive attitude and an ability to stay calm under pressure
  • Excellent communication skills; verbal, written and presentation.  
  • Data analysis, interpretation and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to explain technical and complex issues to customers.
  • Empathy and an ability to see things from others perspective
About the Company: 

The Namibian Investment Promotion and Development Board (NIPDP) is a  Non-profit Association Incorporated under Section 21 and is established as an autonomous entity in the Presidency and pronounced as a Public Enterprise in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Enterprises Governance Act, 2019 (Act No. 1 of 2019).  The Board is mandated to promote and facilitate investment by foreign and Namibian investors and new Ventures that contribute to economic development and job creation; Implement Namibia Investment  Policy and attendant Strategy amongst others.
